Sector Analysis

The BANKING Sector emerged the highest traded sector today with a volume of 161,079,667 and recorded 70.8 percent of the total turnover valued at N1,363,283,323.32 in 2,881 deals. The FOOD/BEVERAGES Sector was next with a record of 5.9 percent of the turnover, and a volume of 13,335,491 worth N203,599,760.93 in 447 deals, while the INSURANCE Sector accounted for 5.2 percent of the turnover and recorded a volume of 11,929,511 valued at N8,764,243.50 in 153 deals. Gainers & Losers

NBC took the lead today as the highest gainer with an increase of N1.50, ETI followed with a price increase of N0.60, then PRESCO gained N0.29, while CADBURY increased with N0.24. On the Losers` corner, OANDO emerged the highest losers for the day with a drop of N1.40, followed by UACN which lost N0.79 and IBTC lost N0.51 see table
